11 Oct Why we believe it’s so important for Mum to be in the photo!
At Embellish Photography we want to shine a light on one of the most loved people in our lives…our Mums! They have one of the most important jobs in the world: they love us unconditionally, take care of us, teach us all about the world and help us grow. And often because they are so busy raising their family and giving us their all, they forget to take a moment for themselves.
Have you noticed that Mum is often the person missing from your family photos? The reason for this is that she is usually the one behind the camera, always remembering to take the time to document those special moments for her children and family! We think it’s important for Mum to get her moment to shine and be a part of the beautiful images that tell your family story.
Do you find yourself asking your partner to take a photo of yourself with the children and then find yourself disappointed with the results? Although they will always try to do their best to take a good photo of the family together, it’s important to remember that they are not a professional photographer and are also not using professional equipment! That is where we come into the picture. We have the skills that come with years of experience; understanding the best angles, flattering poses and lighting along with professional equipment and settings that will work in harmony to create beautiful images of your family.
As a Mum, we can be so busy in our day to day lives that special moments and milestones can slip our minds. Your little one will grow up so fast and it’s vital to capture the beautiful bond between you and your baby during these tender years. That’s why it’s important to have those memories captured as photos, so that we can look back on them during our quiet moments and bring back to life the memories that we have forgotten. It’s a subject that I am very passionate about and a big reason why I love photography.
We love to encourage Mum’s who come along to the session for their newborn, children, and partner to also be a part of the action. I know, this can be a daunting prospect. As a mother of three I know what it is like during the first few weeks (and even years!) of your child’s life. You might feel like you are running a marathon on a few hours of sleep and focusing on everyone except for yourself. The last thing on your mind is having your photo taken. We often hear “Oh no, I don’t want to be in the photos!” as mothers fear that they might not look the same as they used to.
As mothers we are always waiting for the ‘right time’ to have our photo taken, but what we don’t realise is that now is the right time! Mother’s frequently worry about losing their post-baby weight before being in their family photos; but what they are missing out on is the opportunity to capture the precious moments of today. It won’t matter if your hair wasn’t perfect or if you hadn’t yet achieved your ideal body goals, I guarantee you that these little things do not matter to your loved ones. What matters to your children is that they will have memories of the most special person in their lives, their Mum. Rest assured, you can trust us to capture truly amazing photos of you, and your family, that you will treasure for years to come.
And if you feel like having an extra special experience, we have an extensive wardrobe of beautiful gowns and accessories available for our clients, as well as the option to have your hair and makeup done by a professional makeup artist on site to make you look and feel amazing!
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that your little ones will be able to look back on these photos for the rest of their lives and remember the special times that they shared with their Mum. When they are all grown up and have families of their own, you will be able to look back at those photos and cherish being a part of them with your loved ones by your side.
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. It is the spiritual.
